At Charlies Candles, we believe in the power of storytelling through our sense of smell. Together with our friends at Nosy Candles, we set out on a particularly creative journey: translating the soul of Antwerp into a unique collection of scented candles.
It was a project that challenged us in the best of ways from the very beginning, but resulted in a collection we are genuinely proud of.
Antwerp, translated into scent
The ambitious nature of the project was clear from the start: capture iconic places and a typical Antwerp feel in recognizable, authentic fragrances. Not a superficial “city-inspired” interpretation, but a deeper search for what truly defines these locations, their atmosphere, their energy, and the memories they evoke.
Each candle can be linked to a piece of the historic city, with names such as:

An intense (and rewarding) creative process
Finding the right scent combinations for fragrances that are both evocative and pleasant to our senses, takes time, testing, and precision.
Because how do you translate the quiet grandeur of Cathedral of Our Lady, the warmth of a praline shop, or the freshness of Den Botaniek, into a balanced fragrance that feels true and not forced?
Through iteration, craftsmanship, and close collaboration, the project grew into a collection that feels both recognizable and emotionally connected to the sensory atmosphere of Antwerp, all in the comfort of your own spaces.

Today, the collection has found its way to various points of sale, including the Antwerp Fashion Museum. Not only has it reached candle lovers, but also people who are passionate about design, culture, and connecting to local identity while appreciating products that carry a story.
